Dressage Trainer

Jayne Bailey

Jayne Bailey is a lifelong horsewoman with over 30 years of experience working with a wide range of breeds, disciplines, and riders of all levels and goals. She welcomes riders from any background, focusing on helping each horse-and-rider team develop clear communication, confidence, and a deeper understanding of their partnership.

Jayne teaches from a classical dressage perspective, with a strong emphasis on correct biomechanics for both horse and rider. Her approach integrates equine anatomy, physiology, and psychology, empowering students with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively train and problem-solve—both in lessons and independently.

Her training style is thoughtful, creative, and supportive, often incorporating in-hand work, unmounted exercises, and educational resources such as videos, reading materials, and discussion. Jayne is passionate about helping riders understand the “how” and “why” behind their progress, ensuring consistent improvement and long-term success.

Jayne has trained horses through the Prix St. George level, started young horses, and successfully helped many horses and riders work through plateaus and training challenges. She has worked with internationally recognized riders and trainers, including Mette Rosencrantz and David Hunt, and spent a winter season grooming at the U.S. Team Farm in Wellington, Florida. She currently trains with Paula Kierkegaard and remains committed to continuing her education through clinics, workshops, and ongoing study.

Whether your goal is to compete in dressage, improve your flatwork, explore new disciplines, or simply build confidence and connection with your horse, Jayne is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals while keeping the horse’s well-being at the center of the process.

She is particularly skilled with off-the-track Thoroughbreds, focusing on building a correct, confident foundation as they transition into new careers. She has also brought along numerous young horses, helping them develop into capable and confident athletes in both eventing and jumping disciplines.

In recent years, Nicole has focused on growing her own program, with an emphasis on teaching and developing both horse and rider. She works with riders of all levels and is committed to creating a supportive, educational environment that encourages steady progress and confidence.
